After maintaining a 24/7 distributed system for 15 years, I've learned that reliability beats features every time. When you've lived through weekend deployments and mystery failures, you stop chasing the latest shiny thing.

The most boring, battle-tested option is usually the right choice.

Testing Philosophy

I'm testing the shit out of this because I know how important it is. Comprehensive testing stops being optional when you've seen what happens without it.

  • Test-driven development: The difference between "I think this works" and "I know this works"
  • Integration tests: Components must work together, not just in isolation
  • Real-world scenarios: Test what actually breaks in production

Foundation, Not Framework

Aegis Stack provides the boring infrastructure so you can focus on solving your actual problem.

  • Pick what you need: Database? Sure. Background jobs? Add the scheduler. Task queues? Throw in the worker.
  • Skip what you don't: Don't force a kitchen sink when all you need is an API
  • Stay in control: Clear patterns, explicit dependencies, no magic
